THE THESIS
Rome Kirby
Rome is a world-class, professional sailor who has won the America's Cup, circumnavigated the globe, and, currently, races for SailGP Team USA.
​
He grew up on the water in Newport, RI and has deep industry knowledge. During his career, he has seen and worked with the best marinas, shipyards, technicians, and boat builders from around the world – giving him a unique perspective on the industry.
He has leveraged that industry experience to start multiple successful marine businesses, including Kirby Marine.
Tristram Worth
Tris is a former investment banker and consultant with a strong strategic and financial background. While working at J.P. Morgan, he led multiple billion-dollar financings across the tech, media, and telecom sectors.
He grew up working on the waterfront in Nantucket, MA and has a deep appreciation for the ocean. On Nantucket, he managed a boat rental, was a USCG launch driver, and crewed as a mate on a private yacht.
He graduated from Boston College with a B.S. in Management and holds an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia (Darden).
